Independent living here at Sycamores Terrace Retirement Community is a senior housing apartment community that provides supportive services such as meals, housekeeping, social activities, transportation and much more. Congregate Housing, Supportive Housing, and Retirement Community are also terms that may be used interchangeably with independent living. Independent Living typically encourages socialization by provision of meals in a central dining area and scheduled social programs.

No. Some independent living communities will require an endowment or a large buy in fee. At Sycamores Terrace Retirement community, however there is only a small entrance fee and a monthly fee.

Yes, all utilities, except phone and cable, are included in the monthly fee.

Residents who live in our independent senior living apartments have several meal options to chose from that will be a part of their monthly fee. Which meals may vary depending on the options you choose. Additional meals can be purchased for a nominal additional charge.

We have two housekeeping options available, weekly or twice a month.

Yes. All senior independent living apartments have emergency cords which can be pulled to summon nursing personnel 24-hours a day in the case of an emergency. In addition, we can provide an alert necklace or wristband that works in conjunction with emergency alert system for a nominal fee.

Sycamores Terrace offers residents a continuum of care including senior assisted living/personal care. Independent senior living residents needing additional assistance can transition into a higher level of care without ever leaving the community.
Some residents receive physical therapy, home health, and even hospice in their home at Sycamores Terrace. Others leave for post-surgical rehabilitation and look forward to coming back home as quickly as possible.

Yes. Sycamores Terrace can provide guest room services for a small additional fee.

Yes! Independent Living residents are on the priority admittance list for our senior assisted living. Residents who move from the independent living on a temporary basis keep their apartment. If a resident wants to move to senior assisted living permanently, our administration office works with family to expedite transition.

Assisted living offers seniors the help they need with the tasks of daily living, a residential community that supports and encourages their independence, and opportunities to live a full and engaging life.

Assisted living is not a nursing home. The typical Sycamores Terrace resident may need assistance with medications, meals, housekeeping and other activities, but is not chronically ill.

Yes – and Yes! High quality providers of assisted living, like Sycamores Terrace, have one thing in common – they are licensed and regulated by the state. Licensing ensures appropriate staffing levels, physician-certified care plans, staff training, and medication administration. Don’t assume a provider is licensed just because they call themselves “assisted living.”

Our community has a licensed nurse available as needed. Assisted living providers are not required to employ a full-time nurse, but Sycamores Terrace has chosen to do so.

Yes. However, residents may chose to continue to see their own physicians. Sycamores Terrace is available to assist residents with transportation to their doctor’s office as needed. Sycamores Terrace is Partnered with Geriatric Consulting Group, Dr. Thomas Miller and Associates. Residents who choose Dr. Thomas Miller for their medical needs here at Sycamores Terrace have the experience and convenience of Dr. Miller and his medical team at their door step. Weekly, Geriatric Consulting Group travel to Sycamores Terrace to see his or her patient in the community.

Sycamores Terrace offers residents a choice of one or two bedroom apartments; private or semi-private apartments.
